Born in Santiago, Chile, Hugo grew up as the youngest of four siblings. He had a passion for art and technology early on. Born in Santiago, Chile, Hugo grew up as the youngest of four siblings. He had a passion for art and technology early on. This is because, ever since he was a child, Hugo received invaluable coaching from his father who was a technology and photography buff. Hugo learned to manipulate images as the photographic world turned digital, and upon graduating from high school, Hugo entered the Air Force where he had the chance to travel the world and view life through many different lenses and perspectives. He eventually transferred to the Army on a commissioning program to reach the grade of Captain in the 240th Signal Battalion of the California Army National Guard. Hugo holds a special place for veterans and their families. Hugo earned an MBA degree with emphasis on Organizational Leadership from Brandman University within the Chapman University system, and a Bachelor or Science degree in Information Systems from the University of Redlands.

Studio 913 is a complete, state of the art music, photography and graphics studio located in Santa Ana, California; owned and managed by Hugo Ortega. Hugo's work is performed with high-resolution digital equipment and computers involving in-studio and on-location settings. Hugo believes in mutual respect, discretion, and a professional working environment.
